The process of becoming

We all have moments when we think about where we want to be in the years to come. The important question we have to ask ourselves is “how committed am I to the vision I have for myself and my life”? Another way to ask this question is “am I really committed to the next version of myself?”
You see your vision, is your potential. You have the potential to become the version of yourself you desire to see. Sometimes we overwhelm ourselves with how big our vision is and how much we will have to do to make it a reality.
However, I want to encourage you not to run away from your dreams, but instead to embrace the process of walking towards them. Start very small, ask yourself “what is the one thing, I could do daily that could bring me closer to my vision.” Just one thing, because that one thing can help you develop the consistency needed to make your dream a reality.
Your consistency with one thing will help you build your confidence to take the next step. This is why it is so important not to underestimate small beginnings. I mean it doesn’t make sense to run a race without training first. It’s the small regular effort (training) that will help you prepare for the race. See it as ‘the process of becoming’. I know “having” is often more desired than “becoming” but if we skip the process of becoming, how do we ensure that we can manage, maintain and multiply what we have?
You see something we only want to last a day, a week, a month or a year is easy. However, something you want to last a lifetime is going to take consistent effort. It will also require a solid foundation. This is something that is important to talk about, as many of us want but have not yet established a solid foundation for ourselves.
Your foundation is your beliefs and values. If you follow a faith that would be your foundation. To develop as a person you need to be clear on what matters to you and what you are living for, so that you don’t lose yourself in your desires.
Another way to explain this is your foundation will help you define what success actually means for you. For example, if you are a Christian and you believe success is living your life for and with God, if you make £1,000000, buy the properties, travel the world but forget God, you will look successful to others but to yourself you may not feel successful because your desires have replaced your true foundation.
Now you can see why personal development is so important. We need to be able to look in the mirror and be happy with the person we see. The focus of She Shines UK is to help you focus on building the best you. I know you want to level up in your career, I know you want the degree, the business, the property, the holidays and these are all great ambitions. I just want to make sure that the woman you want and have the potential to be, is on that list too!
For the kind of things you want to build, you need to be committed to the process of becoming.
Rooting for you sis! 💛
